Hi! I'm Rachel, and I've just moved to the Boston area from a much smaller city in Maine and I'm experiencing big city life for the first time with my beautiful partner ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) dystocia and our two weird cats.
I have had many journals before this one. You've probably been friends with one.
I'm highly excitable, and I've long since grown out of my snarky, cynical stage. If people who unironically use the phrase "spiffy keen!" drive you nuts, you should probably just keep walking. Me, I'm ready for joy.
I often post rambling narratives here, and they're generally true -- BUT! if you want historical facts, go read a historian's journal. I'm a poet and I can embellish wherever I like.
And just in case you were wondering, "ecdysiasm" is a word for a striptease coined by H.L. Mencken ("Ecdysiast, he calls me! Why, the man...has been reading books! Dictionaries!" was Gypsy Rose Lee's indignant response). But don't get too excited: it's just one of those dull metaphorical stripteases. There's no naughty pics to go looking for.
